Code Factory Team
- Name:
- Eduard Sánchez Palazón
- Position:
- Chief Executive Officer
- Department:
- Management
Throughout the company's history, Eduard has held an integral role in shaping Code Factory into the global leader of mobile access solutions that it is today. As chief executive officer, Eduard is responsible for designing Code Factory's roadmap from its software programming to planning for its commercial success, leading different development projects, making strategic and operational decisions, and overseeing the formation of global alliances and partnerships.
"I wanted to build a company that created products which have a direct impact on people's every day lives," Eduard explains, "But I also wanted to introduce innovations to an area where groundbreaking solutions were most needed. The access technology field provides both the ability to make a difference and the necessity to innovate, and that's why I chose it."
Even at the age of 20, when he founded Code Factory with his brother Jordi, Eduard was no newcomer to technological development. When he was just 15, he had already contributed articles to three computer magazines. Three years later, he attended and taught digital audio programming at the University Autónoma de Barcelona. By the time he was 19, he was building computer systems for several local companies, and selling more than 175,000 copies of the software resulting from his first solo project. Eduard was then hired by the leading game and software publisher Ken Williams, CEO of Sierra Online, to work in a new company he formed in Seattle, Washington.
"It was while I was living in Seattle that Code Factory was formed and its first blindness related product was developed," says Eduard, who returned to Spain two years later to focus on his own company. "I knew then that I could give so much more to this industry where my contributions would benefit people with disabilities in many ways."
Eduard's expertise centers on Software Engineering and Design. He possesses knowledge and experience ranging from business development to corporate management. With close to half a million sold copies of software based on his work, both alone and in collaboration with others in the field, he has certainly made a positive difference in the lives of the blind and visually impaired worldwide, and those products, more often than not, have brought access where it has never been available before.
In his spare time, Eduard loves to travel around Europe, listen to music, enjoy a good film or book, and come up with ideas for new accessibility products.

- Name:
- Wil Osberger
- Position:
- Software Developer for Symbian
- Department:
- Development
Wil is a software developer working in various projects for Symbian phones.
Wil was born in Brisbane, Australia, and completed a doctorate in Electrical Engineering at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane. After that, he worked for 5 years as a Software Engineer at Tektronix, a test and measurement company in Portland, Oregon. He primarily worked on Image and Video processing algorithms prior to coming to Code Factory.
Shortly after leaving Portland, Wil began working at Code Factory in November of 2003. He'd wanted for some time to work for a dynamically growing company where there is closer contact with the customers, and where he could be involved in all areas of the projects, not just the coding of a particular module. He started working on Mobile Speak, and later developed the Mobile Magnifier and Mobile Color Recognizer (MCR) applications. "I remember when we were still testing the MCR, I received several emails from the beta testers, explaining that for the first time they could choose their shirt color without requiring assistance, or tell the difference between their milk and juice cartons without having to open and taste them. They're just little things, but apart from working on a cool technology, it's nice to know that people are really benefiting from the work you are doing in their daily lives."
Wil enjoys the variety of work that he encounters at Code Factory. In the same day, he might be programming the UI, debugging a low-level system, planning the next phase of the project, and responding to customer suggestions. "Being so close to the customers, you really get an understanding of what features they are looking for in the products you work on. As well as helping you to design the applications, it makes the job much more rewarding."
Away from work, Wil enjoys travelling and spending quality time with his kids Candela and Gabriel.

"In country like India, persons with disability are considered the alternate choice. When there is no other option then only the authorities would opt for a disabled. I could realize this fact in my childhood and since then I have been working to prove myself in any possible manner that I am the best choice. The way is long but I am sure of success. People are working for person with disability and things are improving, with my acquired know and skills I would like to extend my little hand for their support.
To understand Government, State, Laws, Duties, and Rights, I opted for bachelors program in Political Science and completed it in year 2007. In the mean time I realized the need and importance of technology for person with vision impairment and wanted to develop technology products that would help every one like me to live without any one's support thus I opted for a Post Graduation course in Computer application.
Since the start of my work life, have worked for two desktop screen reader companies, two Non Governmental Organizations, and few open source applications for persons with disability.
